The nicest part of Chennai is the beach. A mini-getaway. A break from the hustle and bustle of the city. And this weekend, the storm clouds provided a great backdrop!
It also happened to be Holi weekend. And Good Friday. And Navroz. There were tons of people on the beach playing Holi.
Its sad to see the condition of the beach though. Please do your part and don't litter!
Let's keep the beaches lovely!

You are so correct when you say that the beaches around chennai would be a lot more enjoyable without the all the litters we can find on the beach. I enjoy reading your blog and I am happy to see that there other foodies in the city.
Kiki
Welcome, Kiki!
The condition of our beaches are so pathetic... We were on a vacation to Hawaii and beaches were so clean and that adds to it Beauty. Instead of admiring its beauty, I was only thinking about how we could keep our Beaches nice clean and pretty and in the process make money out of tourism... India is gifted with nice beaches but not gifted to have sensible citizens.
Sarada.
Sarada - you are right. Can you imagine how lovely it'll be to have clean beaches. Here you are a little afraid to take off your shoes and walk around incase there is glass/ plastic in the sand! :( Sad.
Madras would be a hot tourist spot if for the state of the beaches. I think that a lot has to do with population and lack of education. With the multitudes thinking this is "my beach" and no one will say anything if i throw a glass here or can there...there's bound to be a problem.
If only the Government/ Corporation would provide TRASH CANS!!!!! So people who are conscientious can atleast have a proper place to dispose of trash!
Agree with you...
Did you know Marina beach is the longest toilet in the world .. Not the longest beach any more...
Really sad
